Happy 50th Linda!

9-28-08

We continue to enjoy the comfortable fall weather. Eating Sunday dinner outside in the backyard has been very pleasant these past few weeks. Marie continues to enjoy the warmth as she works at the produce stand; she knows that cold days are just around the corner.

This past week has been more routine for us! Ron continues to stay busy with school and his classes, Marie is busy with school, work, lacrosse, and homework and my days are occupied with school, lacrosse meetings, and getting my RS lesson ready.

Friday night Ron and I enjoyed celebrating Linda’s 50th Birthday at the Whitmore house. It was fun spending time with family and honoring Linda for living for half a century! Yes, we are getting older; we will soon join Linda at the half-century mark!

I enjoyed the Relief Society General Meeting last night. The speakers were inspired and the music was amazing. Ron was able to be downtown helping with parking for the event. He was thrilled with the opportunity to wear a walkie-talkie and listen to all the events that take place behind the main event. He will be happy to let you in on some new information that he learned while directing traffic in the plaza parking area. The best part was that the volunteers were served a wonderful dinner while the meeting was taking place! I’m sure that the dinner was provided by the Lion House since their dinner of chicken cordon blue ended with some amazing pie or cheesecake. Ron will be very willing to volunteer for that assignment again…a walkie-talkie and dinner what could be better!

Ron worked his magic and Dora lives….he discovered that it wasn’t oil that was leaking but antifreeze. Apparently Dora had a problem with a heating valve. Luckily Ron was able to repair the car, so Savanna will be coming up to pick Dora up on Tuesday. She is thankful to have a car that runs…hopefully Dora will last through Savanna’s student teaching experience this coming winter!

Have a good week and take care
